Meet DAVE

Welcome, we are FRC Team 3683 – Team DAVE, the FIRST Robotics Team at St. David CSS in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

In the 2023 season, CHARGED UP, DAVE competed at the Western District Event, becoming District Event Finalists and winning the Innovation in Control Award. DAVE placed first at the Waterloo District Event, winning the Innovation in Control Award. At Ontario Provincials, DAVE was Finalists in the Technology Division. DAVE finished the season in the fourth alliance of the Milstein Division at the World Championship in Houston, TX. We are looking forward to competing in March for the 2024 season, CRESCENDO presented by Haas!

DAVE knows that most people have never built a robot before, so we welcome students from grades 8-12 with all levels of experience with open arms. Students are encouraged to explore all aspects of the team.

Build: This subteam is in charge of the mechanical and electrical sides of manufacturing each year’s robot and learn how to use tools such as the 3D machine, CNC Mill and CNC Lathe.

Software: This subteam codes the robot, creating the programming so that the robot can move and complete any necessary actions during matches.

Business: This subteam handles various tasks such as planning events, creating awards submissions, managing social media, and contacting sponsors.

Strategy: This subteam utilizes qualitative and quantitative scouting to create match strategy through data analysis, deciding how the robot will play during events.
