FIRST® POWER UP, the 2018 FIRST® Robotics Competition game, includes two alliances of video game characters and their human operators who are trapped in an arcade game. Both alliances are working to defeat the boss in order to escape!

The Match Includes:

– 2 Switches and a Scale whose colours are randomized before each match begins
– Points scored based on the time an alliance is in control of a Switch/Scale

A 15 second autonomous period in which robots can:
– Place power cubes on their switch and scale
– Collect additional power cubes from the field
– Cross their auto line

After autonomous, Drivers control their robots from their driver stations for the remaining 135 seconds of the match, and are able to:
– Place power cubes on any switch and the scale
– Collect additional power cubes from the field and their human players
– Load power cubes into the exchange
– Climb from their platform to face the boss
– Human players can activate 3 power ups using cubes put into the exchange:
– Force, which forces the scale and the alliance’s switch to their side
– Boost, which doubles points scored for 10 seconds
– Levitate, which lets a robot score climb points without climbing
