In the Community

Team DAVE is involved in a number of outreach activities to help promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) to our community.

2024:

  • FLL WCDSB Qualifier – hosted by Team DAVE at St. David CSS for local FLL teams
  • DAVE Hacks – showcased 2024 robot to participants of a hackathon
  • The Village at Winston Park – interacted with seniors using LEGO WeDo kits
  • St. Luke Stream Night – visited a feeder school & showcased 2020 robot to students
  • Bring on the Bots – interacted with children at local library alongside 2702 Rebels
  • STEAM Camp – hosted a camp for students in Grades 5-9 with DAVE students as camp counselors

2023

  • Micro:Bit Fair – was invited by a WCDSB employee to participate at the event
  • FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier – hosted virtually by Team DAVE
  • Elementary School Visits – presented the team and robot to future students of St. David CSS
  • KW Oktoberfest – demoed robot at booth
  • FIRST Summer Camps – was invited by FIRST to volunteer at multiple events
  • The Village at Winston Park – visited residents and demoed the 2020 season robot
