Team DAVE is FRC Team 3683 – the FIRST Robotics Team at St. David CSS in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

This year DAVE had from January 4th to March 6th to build and finance a robot to collect and score Power Cells in order to energize our Shield Generator for maximum protection. We also had to spin a Control Panel after scoring a specific number of Power Cells to activate different stages of the Shield Generator. Near the end of the match, and in order to protect our city, we had to climb and balance on the Generator Switch.

DAVE knows that most people have never built a robot before, so we welcomes students from all grades and all levels of experience with open arms. Here is what we can do:

Technical: We have ridiculously talented UW engineering students and graduates as mentors who will show you everything you need to know, from using a screwdriver for the first time to advanced manufacturing techniques using industry-standard SolidWorks 3D CAD software and our school’s 3D Printer, CNC Mill, and CNC Lathe.

Business: This year we have amazing University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University mentors on the business, sponsorship, and marketing side who will give you both challenging work and the training and support you need to do it. We will be planning fundraising and outreach events, developing brochures and other communication materials, launching social media campaigns, engaging with the local business community for sponsorship and technical support, and just plain running the finances of the team.

Why not join DAVE for an afternoon and find out if DAVE is for you?
